3 Simple Ways to Draw Closer to God Everyday

James 4:8 says Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.  These are a few ways I draw closer to God during the day and can be done ANYWHERE & ANYTIME throughout your day.  YOU... just have to make TIME for GOD!

As soon as your eyes open for the day, before your head even leaves the pillow, Talk to Jesus.

Imagine this... You wake up and you're only surrounded by the things you were grateful for yesterday. What would be surrounding you?

This might be huge reality check and quite literally a "wake up call" for some of us. Are you really taking the time to pray and talk with God throughout the day for even the tiniest of blessings? What would your world be filled with if you only woke up with those blessings? Do you think you have some room for improvement? If so I suggest you and Jesus have some pillow talk. Our Christian Homesteading Daily Planner will also make sure you're creating that time in your day for Jesus.

During PILLOW TALK I also ask to be of service to him that day. To use me as a vessel. To shine his light through me onto others. May my eyes be open to those in need of his light and love and my he guide my feet to the path he wants me on that day.  I ask for protection over my girls. To use the helmet of protection over our thoughts and shield us from attacks from the enemy. I ask for the Holy Spirit to fill me, not just fill me, but overfill my cup!  I pray for His will to be done in my life. If you have ever been nervous to pray for His will to be done in your life, to lay your life at his feet, I highly recommend it. IT'S a GAME CHANGER! Scary, but TRUST in the LORD!  Do I ever have some good testimonies to share on that one! That's a whole other story for another day!

Another thing that I do to draw closer to God every day is LISTEN TO CHRISTIAN MUSIC. We steam KLove on our google device in our kitchen. Nothing like hearing your kids singing and praising Jesus!  It's also the only station that we listen to in the car. Guaranteed there will be songs that touch you, will have you singing along or even in tears. Either way, the Holy Spirit is moving in you.

I have my own 9-5 business cleaning homes and almost two years ago I switched from listening to my playlist to LISTENING TO CHRISTIAN PODCASTS.  I love listening to sermons and other Christian self help podcast. I can't tell you how many times a day I'm saying AMEN! If you struggle with finding time to read your bible, you can simply listen to it. The bible app has an audio option and it's great.  A few of my favourite podcasts are listed below.

Joyce Meyer Enjoying Everyday Life (Tv Audio) Normally 30 Min. or so

Joyce Meyer Enjoying Everyday Life Radio Podcast Normally 15 Min. or so

Encounter Podcast with David Diga Hernandez Powerful teachings on the Holy Spirit

Daily Radio Program with Charles Stanley

Simple SEO and Marketing, Business Growth, Organic Marketing. for any business owners running their own websites or blogs. Faith is a cowgirl too!

The Thriving Christian Artist, Matt Tommey

I would also like to add that I get a lot of confirmation from God listening to the podcasts. I might be struggling with something that day and low and behold it's literally the topic of that particular days podcast. Which always has me looking above with a little smirk on my face, saying "Thank you Jesus" So if you're struggling with something, walking in a season, try listening to a Christian podcast. Before you even hit the search button, pray over it and ask the Holy Spirit to guide you to pick the correct show for you. Chances are, when you listen to a podcast it will mention a verse or a few of them. Take note of them. Pause the podcast and write it down, or jot it in your notes on your phone. Circle back to it that evening before bed or heck if your like me... your IN bed reading your bible. Take time to study the verse.

I pray that you incorporate these 3 simple practices into your daily life. That the Holy Spirit uses them as a vessel and you draw closer to him every minute of the day. Many blessings my friends xoxo
