HOW TO USE OUR PLANNER

How to use The Rooted in Faith

Christian Homesteading Daily Planner

Go brew some coffee, pour a nice big cup and sneak off to a quiet part of your homestead and let's dig in.

This is the "Monthly Tracker" Section in our planner. Let's breakdown this page.

Monthly Tracker

This page repeats 12 times throughout the planner.

Egg Tracker

This tracking system can be filled in once a month or every day. That's up to you. The daily planner will have a cute little egg on every new day. This way you can write in how many eggs were collected that day. Lord knows we get asked that all the time. "how many eggs do you get a day?" only to return the answer with a shrug. Cause we really stop counting after our chickens have been laying for over a few months.  Great way to actually keep track of your egg production... and or lack there of it and when they are just simply free loading.

Habit Tracker

Let's face it, we all have areas that we want to improve on. This could be going to bed with a clean sink and or kitchen, exercising more, drinking more water etc. This is your area to keep yourself accountable.

  • Write in your new habit
  • your goal
  • and YOUR REWARD for accomplishing it.

Animal Tracker

Guilty of loosing track of time and missing animal checks? This section can be a lifesaver in some cases so be sure to use the stickers provided (they look like that cow with the heart) to mark the following days in your monthly spread.

  • 1st of the Month
  • 15th of the Month

I created this section because I too had an abundance on my plate and I actually lost our best rooster to mites because I was in the thick of canning season and let my checks slide.  I made sure this was added so I didn't mess up again and to save you the heartache as well.

Savings Tracker

Every little bit counts. Perhaps you have a little money jar, envelope or can that you use to store some savings already but If you don't and want to be inspired to save a little extra every day, this is for you!

You will find 31 jars there. One jar per day to write down how much you squirrelled away that day. Be sure to set a goal on how much you would like to save. Then at the end of the month give it a tally. You will be surprised at how fast you can save.

Priorities

These are the TOP 3 priorities of the month that you MUST CHECK OFF YOUR LIST. Write them here for a quick reminder then schedule them into your monthly spread.

Canning

This is where you are going to challenge yourself and write in 4 items you would like to can this month. The idea is to do one a week, but feel free to piggy back if you have the extra time, energy & harvest.  Every week (on the meal plan page) you will see a cute little "Mason Jar" I have also included 52 little mason jar stickers to add to you planner for those canning days. My hope is that this section inspires you to build up that dream pantry.

Recipes

This is where you are going to challenge yourself and write in 4 recipes you would like to make this month. This can be baked goods, a homemade meal, salve, tincture or a favourite recipe that has been passed down through your family, or perhaps a bake with the kids/grandkids day.  I'm hoping this might just inspire you to step out of your comfort zone and try something new and to also create some new memories.

Notes

I thinks it's always great to leave a little space thats all yours, so run wild with this one. I bet you have already come up with a brilliant way to make this space your own.

 Weekly Prayer Journal

  • Weekly Prayer is just that, Write out your prayer for the week.  What I love about this is you will be able to look back in time and see how God has been working in your life and the prayer's he's answered.

  • Pray Over is a reminder of whom to pray over that week and a space to add more people in as the week goes on. It's so important to take the time to raise one another in prayer.

  • Thankful For is a reminder that when you pray, you should come to the Lord with the constant reminder of all the things he has provided you.  We need to remember the miracles the Lord has done in our lives and this is a place to record some of those moments. A place to reflect and give thanks.

Daily Page

Yes, there is a whole lot going on here... so take a nice sip of that coffee. There is a reason why our slogan states... " A whole Lotta Coffee & Jesus"

Designed to get YOU INTO YOUR BIBLE! This is what the Lord placed on my heart when I started creating this planner. I was NOT supposed to add in daily scriptures. He wanted YOU to go to your bible everyday and find a verse that resonated with YOU! Maybe it's one that hits home that day or perhaps a verse you want to memorize. Either way, it was made very clear to me to have this section in the planner so people could DIG into the word.

Blocks This is your space to divide up all the 101 things on your to do list. The idea is to break them into blocks aka subcategories. Here are a few ideas. Whatever you don't accomplish just move it to the next day.
Barn

  • Garden

  • House

  • Out in the City

  • Kids

  • Animals

  • Work

  • Farm Stand

  • Honey To-Do

  • Meal Prep

  • Homeschooling

  • Social Media

  • etc.

Weather Record the High and Low of the day, and write it on the appropriate image, sunny, cloudy, etc. This way you can look back and see what the weather was that day.

Little Egg Write in the amount of eggs you collected that day. Mine are going through a moult right now so egg counts are down. Change of season and lack of daylight is not helping either. Use these figures to fill in the Monthly Egg Tracker.

Meal Plan Once you have completed your Weekly Meal Plan, you can write in all your meals in the daily section. This way  you know what's on the menu that particular day.

Social Media Reminders I know I need them, so I figured if you were running a farming business or even trying to build up  your follower's you too would value the reminder to schedule or create a post. Top 3 platforms are on there. Tiktok, Instagram and Facebook.

Morning  & Evening Routines  On the far right you will notice some reminders that are needed in my life to keep me organized and in routine. There are a few blanks as well to add in some of your personal routines.

Top Three Priorities  Smack dab in the middle of the morning and evening routines are your 3 TOP PRIORITIES for that day. These are the MUST GET DONE's!! If nothing else gets done that day.. these 3 things do!

Hit a Cleaning Zone Every month you will notice a Cleaning Zone Checklist to help you stay on top of all the stuff you may let slide. These can be checked off at any time through the entire week. You will notice that the months are broken down into weekly zones.

  • Zone 1 Kitchen & Dining

  • Zone 2 Family Room

  • Zone 3 Laundry & Mudroom, Staircase & Hallways

  • Zone 4 Bathrooms

  • Zone 5 Master Bedroom & Bedrooms

Check off what you got done in that particular week. What ever you can't get accomplished highlight in the following month to make sure you tackle those areas first next time.
